The purpose of stitch and glue is to build a hard-chined boat from plywood. the shape of the boat is therefore made up from conical (flat panel) sections. in a sense, what you call multi-layered is shop-made plywood, but the reason it's done is to make a hull with rounded sections.. My boat plans were from bateau and they have extensive build notes and an online forum. so do other designers, such as devlin. devlin is arguably the high priest of stich and glue. hard to go wrong there. also there is a very good book called "stitch and glue boat building" by chris kulczycki. curlew - a made-to-measure, stitch & glue. The reason that stitch and glue is faster and simpler than traditional methods is that it eliminates the need for chine logs, complicated forms, and tricky clamping. and the major factor involved is the use of epoxy fillets.. Beautiful boat, but probably a teaser.those aft side seats need to come out further perhaps or you will sail this boat with your butt in the bilges and your back is going to feel those the way they are now..
